THE RULES HAVE CHANGED FOR JUNIOR MEMBERSHIPS FOR 2027-2028

After a serious incident happened in August 2026 around Gregson's Pool our risk assessment has changed and therefor it has a knock on effect for us all.

From the start of the new season, 1st March 2027, anyone under the age of 12 cannot join the club, 12 to 15 years old will be designated as Juniors,  this age group cannot night fish unless they are fishing with a full senior member of the club who is a relative and must be aged 18 or over.

There will be no exceptions to this rule.

During the last season 26-27 we have had a lot of problems with juniors not having the correct equipment, everyone who joined the club last year had a list included in the envelope with the members book , it clearly tells you what you need to fish for the carp, and how to, last year we spent £7000 on Fish, we simply cannot allow inexperienced anglers to damage these fish.

From next season they MUST have the correct equipment or sadly they cannot fish for the carp, as a club we have help as much as we can running competitions which the winners win bait bundles, we have also given out un hooking mats fishing rods bivvies reels you name we have given it and we will continue when we can.

 

We will also be having training sessions on Gregson's next year 2027 for juniors to learn more about how to fish and the equipment they need and how we can help them please encourage your children to attend, this is free to attend and will enhance their skills
